This is mainly just a blog to help my tell everyone about conventions in the US, along with display pictures I like.

More pictures!
Figured while I was going through my hard drive I might as well upload some pictures from other conventions.
Because who doesn't love photography. Lol

And finally, a day to relax.
Phew. Finally everything is back to normal and it's back to my regular day job (Best buy is still a terrible place to work for, even with an employee discount.) But now it's time to begin saving for the next convention year. I'm still trying to get press passes for the 'larger' conventions such as comic con and what not. But without some huge portfolio, resume, and a dot com site it looks like they won't so much as give me a discount on a badge to get inside...sigh. Oh well. I do believe I'm going to be invited to power morphicon (A power rangers convention? Seriously?! Awesome. Lol) thanks to the fact at a convention in Florida I met with Jason David Frank (The original green ranger) and got on his good graces somehow and he claimed he could get me in. If all goes well I'll see him at AFO in Florida this year to find out if he'll hold to his word or not.
But yes, thankfully after it all I still have quite a bit of money saved up still. Meaning if all goes well I might be able to upgrade my camera from a Nikon D90 to a Canon EOS model. But it's still a little expensive for my tastes. Hopefully the price will come down by the time I want to buy it since Nikon cameras have been hit or miss with me over the years.
But if all goes well I should be hitting at least 9 conventions this year. Possible upwards of 12 if I get REALLY lucky.

EXPCon 2010
Alright, like I promised there's photos to be shown. Though here's my log for my entire adventure over the weekend.
It seems on the way there my GPS was perfectly fine. Getting around St. Augustine was perfectly fine too. However getting back was a god damn nightmare. It's about 2 hours getting there. and took almost 6 hours getting back.
But the convention itself was amazing. hotel staff was great, the convention security was amazing (Normally there are numerous problems over the weekends of conventions, but this one went off without a hitch. Or at least nothing that they couldn't keep quiet about)
My hotel room was on the third floor which made it nice, though all but one of the elevators were down for maintenance on Saturday night. So finding that out initially meant waiting almost 15 minutes for an elevator to get to the lobby. (The hotel only has 15 floors.)
All in all, it was better then last year. Much better in attendance too, last year I believe the entire convention had between 1,500 and 2,000 attendees. This year however they had over 4,000 attendees. which was good, and bad. The hotel convention hall simply wasn't large enough and for some panels they even had lines that stretched all the way out to the parking lot. Needless to say next year they're going to have to rent out a venue.
Now then, onto the pictures.
All in all, it was a good convention and will be traveling back next year hopefully to go again.

While my pictures are uploading...
My friend sent me this, I totally wish I has this CD for the drive to and from St. Augustine. Lol

Phew. Got back finally.
After god knows how many hours driving (My GPS decided it wanted to take me on an adventure..lets just say that.)
I've finally returned. Now to unpack, and upload my pictures. Expect more within the next 24 hours. Convention was awesome.

I guess this is a good turn of events.
I recently took a trip from Atlanta down to see my parents and old school friends for the week only to find just about two hours north is St. Augustine which is a wonderful place to visit, along with the fact this upcoming weekend there will be another convention EXP con happening at one of the local convention halls and press passes are free since it's only in it's second year. Hearing about it I sent in a form for a photographers press pass and just about noon today I received a reply saying I've been permitted a pass. Awesome. Looks like my weekend won't be completely dull.
So don't expect an update Thursday through Friday, though Monday expect my log along with a bunch of new pictures. Hopefully there'll be some impressive cosplay and events there.
Thankfully all my camera gear, along with everything else is packed considering I was traveling already so I can just pick up and go.
